CENA - CENTER OF NUCLEAR ENERGY IN AGRICULTURE

NIL (LIN) - NUCLEAR INSTRUMENTATION LABORATORY

Nuclear Instrumentation Laboratory - NIL (LIN in Portuguese) is a place that colaborates scientifically and puts together a variety of competencies. The NIL has the Spectroscopy group applying X-rays to Agriculture and the Environment. This way, we can promote internal research. The laboratory supports other investigation groups, whether they are CENA institutions or not.

Our activities and infrastructure are related to electronic and nuclear spectroscopy on energetic layers that cover X-ray and gamma radiation. The main analytical techniques we explore are: X-ray fluorescence (XRF), X-ray absorption (XANES and EXAFS), non-resonant X-ray emission (XES) and gamma spectroscopy.
